Hello, referring to an older inquiry: We'd like to use the labels for vaccum applications. Why is this not recommended? Is the reaction mechanism/precision altered or does the glue degas? What is the reaction mechanism of the sensors?

Asked by: Phil74
Hi Phil74 Thank you for the inquiry. The labels are verified on a silver hot plate for accurate response at standard ambient conditions. Vacuum condition may cause different response point within the chemical mixture used for the indicating dot. The chemical mixture which has a reaction based on temperature is the mechanism of these labels. Best regards OMEGA

Will these labels only measure surface temperature of where its mounted or the air around it too? (conduction/convection). Want to detect max temperature of product going through oven.

Asked by: gbdonhowe
The Temperature Labels are designed to measure the surface temperature of what they are adhered.

It seems a strip could be cut into individual dots. Does cutting the strip into separate dots affect temperature indication or have other impact? Does cutting the strip risk leaking of a chemical or other material/liquid?

Asked by: Peter Strzepa
Thank you for your inquiry Peter. Cutting or modifying the strips in any way will permanently damage the strip and it will not longer measure temperature.

Does humidity affect the measurement non-reversible temperature labels? Does vapor from alcohol or another volatile cleaner/degreaser affect the measurement? If so, would the measurement be biased higher or lower than actual temperature?

Asked by: Tree
Hi Tree, Thank you for the inquiry. These are verified in non-condensing air environment on calibrated hot plate. Strong solvents /chemicals may affect materials and shift readings. Unfortunately we do not have test data for these conditions. Best regards OMEGA

I would like to apply these to a surface that will see up to 300 psi. How will that affect the reading on these strips?

Asked by: Colton
Hi, our Tech Support engineer has connected with you to further assist. Please note: the product has this this note that can also be found under this series of temp label: "Not intended for use in pressure or autoclave applications. Any application involving pressure will cause questionable or even wrong readings." Thank you.
