Are the Non-Reversible OMEGALABEL Temperature Strips vacuum-compatible? I would like to use them to determine the temperature of the sample-holding stage in a thermal evaporation system that operates at a pressure typically in the E-6 to E-7 Torr range.

Asked by: Mickey
Hi Mickey, Thank you for your question. Here are the notes that we have pertaining to use of the temp labels in a vacuum application: "The irreversible labels are not intended to be used in a vacuum setting as they may give false readings. Some customers have had success using the labels in vacuum settings but we cannot guarantee their performance."

On the Omega 8MA temperature strips, Does it matter how they are installed meaning is there an upside down or right side up, and would that negate the accuracy of them if one was installed different from one that was 4 inches away?

Asked by: Mitchell
Thank you for your question. The temperature labels need to be applied to a clean dry surface. Orientation and distance to another label is not a concern. The labels will measure the temperature of where they are applied.

I have these indicators onto a curved nylon surface and used instant adhesive (Loctite 410) to ensure that they to do come off. Will the Loctitie or the curved surface affect the temperature reading?

Asked by: Myles
The temperature labels are fine to use on curved surfaces as long as the label remains in full contact with the surface. We do not test the labels with other adhesives so I would not be able to say one way or another if using the Loctite 410 would skew the reading in any way.
