The TQ513 Series are designed to measure the rotating torque using shaft-to-shaft in-line placement. Heavy-duty silver slip rings provide secure transmission of power and signal from the rotating shaft to your instrumentation. An optional 1024 ppr optical encoder is available to measure angle or speed.

Can this sensor be used in a static or low rpm application? e.g. 1RPM?

Asked by: mrgnhs
Yes it can. If you hold one end of shaft to stop it from turning and apply static torque to the other end of the shaft you should be able measure that torque. It should also work at low rpm.

How do I use the optical encoder option with the transducer? Can I purchase the 10-pin lock connector on your website? Thanks!

Asked by: TemiP
You would need to use a device that will read the pulse output from the encoder. Output is 1024 pulses per revolution. The 10 pin mating connector is supplied with the torque sensor when you order it with the encoder option. If you need to order a spare connector the part# is TQ500-CONN10.

Are the enclosure dimensions the same across the different capacities? I understand the shaft diameter and key sizing changes. Is there a CAD file available anywhere?

Asked by: ES26
Thank you for contacting Omega. Yes, the housing sizes are the same for all ranges, but the shaft and key dimensions change with the range. Three different sized shafts are used. The spec sheet for the TQ513 shows the shaft used on ranges of 62 in-lb and below. For the higher ranges refer to the spec sheet for the TQ514 series torque sensors. Should you have any additional questions please feel free to contact us again.
