These PFA insulated thermocouple wire sensors are hermetically sealed at the sensor tip to provide continuous PFA protection over the measurement junction. This hermetic seal design provides a small, flexible, and electrically isolated thermocouple, suited to a variety of applications.

When using longer lengths, #20AWG stranded wire construction is available to reduce sensor resistance.

For a hermetically sealed RTD sensor, see the HSRTD

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tight Tolerance I bought this several weeks ago and the predicted 6 weeks for delivery. I'm Happy with the accuracy and the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best inert thermocouple I've used Hands down the best inert thermocouple I've used thus far. Our chemicals are very corrosive, so we were hard pressed to find a temperature probe that would work. Even coated, the sensitivity is great and consistency between the probes is great too. If I need more, I'm ordering this exact product again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EXPECTATIONS EXCEEDED!! I have ordered items from Omega several times over the last few months. These guys are AWESOME when it comes to customer service. Wether its been about determining selection of a specific component in reference to our application or technical support of programming of soak controllers. Omega has consistently exceeded our expectations.

What is the maximum diameter of the HSTC-TT-T-24S-36-SMPW-CC wire and the sensor's accuracy?

Asked by: HGNPAmarathunga
Thank you for your inquiry. The maximum nominal size of the wire (w x h) is 0.063" x 0.102". The accuracy is 0.5 C or 0.4 % whichever value is greater.

Can any of these hermetically sealed tip thermocouples withstand temperatures below 0°C? If so what is the minimum temperature?

Asked by: JK018
Thank you for your inquiry JK018. The HSTC series is tested and guaranteed to measure temperatures accurately between 0 to 260 C. This thermocouple is made with Special Limits of Error (SLE) wire. Special Limits of Error Wire (SLE) made products are only spec’d out for temperatures above 32°F (0°C). So, anything below 32°F (0°C) does not comply with the SLE specification. You can accurately measured temperatures down to -80 C if you get a CAL-4 Calibration at an additional cost for temperatures below 0°C.

Can the tip (~1/4") be bent 90 degree to fit into a cavity?

Asked by: pc87
Thank you for your inquiry. The HSTC series probes can only be bent after the first 2" starting from the probe tip.

If i choose T thermocouples from this type, can i measure temperatures in the range between-38°C and 0 °C. Thanks

Asked by: moun1992
Like this sensor, Special Limits Of Error Wire (SLE) made products are only spec’d out for temperatures above 32°F (0°C). So anything below 32°F (0°C) does not comply with the SLE specification. Does this mean that measuring below 0°C is not possible? No. It just means that the accuracy is no longer linear below 0°C.

will this sensor (type K) work with the TX13 transmitter down to a temperature of -80 deg c

Asked by: Joe29
Hi Joe Thank you for the inquiry. Type K material is not tested below 0 C so the accuracy at -80 C would be suspect. Best regards OMEGA
