Omega's SAP-Series thermocouples are designed for surface temperature measurements. These thermocouples are ideal for both flat and curved surfaces. The integral thermocouple sensor is bonded onto the inner surface of the exposed silicone material, providing faster temperature response. These are available in four different thermocouple types: J, K, T, and E. The temperature range is -50 to 200°C (-58 to 392°F). Applications include hot plate measurements, pipe measurements and these can be connected directly to instrument casings or motor housings to obtain an accurate temperature reading.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than I expected Works very well, fast and accurate measurement time and physically more rugged than I expected. Adhesive is good enough for temporary work which is what I needed.

Is this a resistive sensor? if yes, what is the resistance variation ?

Asked by: gustavo 53
Thank you for your inquiry gustavo53. Thermocouples are not resistive sensors. They don't output resistance but millivolts.

The TC connector sold on Omega SMPW-TI-M has a service rating of -29C. Will this connector work with SAPF-TI-2M TC? SAPF-TI-2M is rated to -50, what is a compatible connector?

Asked by: QTS TestEng
The SMPW-TI-M will work as a connector for the probe to carry a signal through the full Type T temperature range. It cannot physically be used below the -29C rating due to the materials it is constructed with. The connecters are most often used in an ambient temperature where the instrument accepting the reading is located.
