Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works fine but user guides are terrible The unit seems fine. Like the data logging feature and exporting to be sure. Be careful of the meter's user's guide, especially Section 5.11. The guide is not clear about how to get to the functions on each step. My employees couldn't figure out how to connect it to a PC. I figured out the unit by trial and error. The software instructions are even worse. I am writing a comprehensive work instruction for my employees so they can easily use it. English was clearly not the first language for the user's guides

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Essential connection detail buried in guide Spent a couple of hours with our IT guy trying to figure out why it wouldn't connect. YOU MUST use the handheld device to turn on USB compatibility, found on page 12 of the User's Guide, although you will need to start the process on page 10 (section 5.11). If you don't see "USB" in small text on the bottom right corner of the device, your computer will not recognize the device. This step is inexplicably buried among information for less vital settings. Another source of frustration is that the program logs the temperature data in Excel in a oC/oF/oK text column that defies easy plotting, even when oC is specified in general options. If there is a setting to change this I couldn't find it and ran out of patience to keep looking. I use =LEFT(D1,4) to grab the oC digits, copy and paste values, and finally convert to number. Device has worked well so far, but the guides need a serious overhaul.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice tool We bought it a month ago, fair enough and we're pleased with it. Perhaps it needs a better user manual but after some testings we were able to identify how some parameters should be configured.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple and Works Works well. Just enable USB mode on the meter and off-loading data to your PC is quick and easy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not link with our computer Had our IT guy spend an hour trying to get the unit to be seen on the computer. Never got it to work. Gave up.

What is the response time for the thermocouples?

Asked by: GerryK
The probe included is a 30 AWG wire diameter with a beaded junction so it will be about 1.5 seconds to reach the full temperature measured.

Does this require special software to pull the data from and can this work on Windows 11

The Software comes with the meter and is rated up for use up to OS10 but customers have used it with OS11 without any problems reported.

Can I calibrate this reader myself?

Asked by: GDog
You can set an offset against a reference to adjust to that standard but full calibration would require the unit be return to Omega.
