OMEGA’s PX309 Series Stainless Steel Pressure transducers below 100 psi use a high accuracy silicon sensor protected by an oil-filled stainless steel diaphragm. Units 100 psi and above use silicon strain gages molecularly bonded to the stainless steel diaphragm.

We provide a complete range of services—from product inception, through design and prototypes, to manufacturing and testing. Our application engineers work closely with our customers to customize, design or create entirely new products. Call us—whether you’re an OEM, manufacturer, or end user.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Untrustworthy calibrations Faked calibration certificate (again). Claims to have been calibrated to 10,000psi using calibration equipment that will go to only 6,000psi

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Word of Caution The product performance was great, but there is a major design flaw. The cable connection option has the cable connected to the body by a nut that if loosened and taken off will break the unit. Whereas the PX409 series differential transducer instead does not have this problem, it has a sealed connection that doesn't allow you to break the unit so easily. The reason I was attempting to take the nut off in the first place was because it was loose and the unit was dunked under water for cleaning so I was trying to make sure the unit would dry out fully before supplying power to the transducer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from compact and reliable Have purchased several of these transducers over the last 10 years and do not recall ever having to replace one due to failure. I usually get the 319 series and my only complaint is that there is no key on the connector to simplify pin alignment. They are also offered a wide range of pressure ratings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A robust and accurate pressure sensor The PX309 is robust and accurate pressure sensor. It will be helpful to note in the instructions that the black wire is the common ground for BOTH the power and signal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy the USB version. USB version is very easy to use. We bought the ones that go with a DAQ first, had tons of trouble because the DAQ wasn't putting out the right voltage for the sensor.

Where can I find the transfer function for a PX309-100A10V? Is it included in the calibration documentation or do I have to generate it myself?

Asked by: dtorgersen
I am reading voltages off the sensor and using custom software to output a pressure. where do i find the equation that converts the sensor output voltage to pressure?

Is there a manual for installing and programming the PX309-5KG5V? I tried accessing the ftp.omega.com site, but it wasn't working. There also isn't a user manual on the product site. I am trying to connect it to a Arduino Uno and a 12V battery.

Asked by: nbosio1001
The PX309-5KG5V is simply an analog output sensor generating a 0 to 5VDC signal over it's 0 to 5000 PSI pressure range. There is no programming necessary and there is no manual. A wiring is available on both the specification sheet on our website and the calibration report that is shipped with the unit. This is a 3 wire device and wiring is as follows. Red wire should connect to the positive(+) side of our 12V battery. Black wire should connected to both the negative (-) side of your 12V battery and the negative (-) or low input of your readout device. White wire should connect to the positive (+) or high input of your readout device. We would have not have any info on how specifically you would connect this to a Arduino Uno

Is the PX359 compatible with Helium?

Asked by: YJSP E
The wetted parts of the PX309/319/329/359 pressure transducers all stainless so media compatibility would not be an issue. The only possible issue the be getting a good seal on the 1/4-18 NPT thread on the process connection when using it with helium. Normally you would use teflon plumber's tape to seal the thread connection

Does Omega PX309 read above the +15 PSI maximum pressure with less accuracy or the15 PSI is the maximum positive pressure that can read? and what will happen if my sample produces more pressure than the specified limit, is that going to damage the sensor?

Asked by: ZARA
Thank you for your inquiry, the PX309 15PSI has a Pressure Overload rating of 3 times rated pressure. The accuracy of the unit is based on zero to full scale, we do not guarantee specifications over the rated pressure.

Are there any limitations for using the PX309 series transmitters under constant exposure to hydrogen gas (pressures up to 3k psi)? (hydrogen embrittlement specifically) Thank you.

Asked by: alphaTech
The PX309 should not be used to measure hydrogen. Embrittlement will occur.

How do I know if my PX359-500A5V contains HNBR o-ring in the wetted pressure port assembly?

Asked by: Myke
We have several suppliers for the 0 to 500 psi sensing element used in the PX309 Series pressure transducer. One of them inadvertently supplied elements with the HNBR O-ring. Unfortunately there no way to identify which units were built use this element without physically cutting unit open the unit which would basically destroy it.

What is the inside diameter and depth of the sensing port within the Male 1/4 NPT port on model PX309-100A10V ?

Asked by: Brendon
Thanks for your inquiry. Would only have available a approximation. 1/8 of an inch The depth would fluctuate Hope this was helpful.
