Description

Extreme process temperatures reduce the accuracy, life and can possible damage pressure transmitters or gauges. The Omega cooling element is made from cast 316L stainless for maximum corrosion resistance and compatibility with process media. When used, in still air, cooling element can reduce a 300°C (570°F) liquid process temperature down to 25°C (77°F) at the active portion of the sensing element. This rugged machined bar stock construction allows the unit to operate to pressures of 100MPa (14,500 psi) at full temperature.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hot oil monitoring This was purchased to monitor pressures on a heat exchanger that runs at 450f degrees with the cooling adapter installed it worked great it data logged as it should to help diagnose a problem we were having with gasket failures. I would definitely purcase again.

I have a boiler feed water system, that is designed for 2000 psig at 650 F. Will the PG-CTN2-G03 work for this system?

Asked by: Mike 58
For the PG-CTN2-G03 max pressure it is rated for 7500psi, which is ok for your application, but the max temp is rated for 300°C which is about 572°F. I would not recommend going beyond the max temp range.

I have gas at 300 ºC, at 60 bar, and I would like to know if the version PG-CTN4-G03 (1/4'') is compatible with this. Also, is there any particular specification for the sensor itself? Can this device connected to a sensor with max T of 80ºC operate?

Asked by: Marcelo
Marcelo, the part number you are looking at; is able to withstand 10,000 psi and up to 300 degree Celsius in temperature. If your gas does not attack 316 SS, and if it falls within the pressure and temperature specs listed, you should be fine.

Can this be used to cool a gas temperature or is it only for cooling liquids?

Asked by: AndyPIC
Thanks for connecting with Omega. The PG-CTN2-G02 is 316l Stainless Steel. You can use it with any media that is compatible with stainless steel, but please note that we do not have the heat dissipation curves for all media. The specification sheet simply states that cooling element can reduce a 300°C (570°F) liquid process temperature down to 25°C (77°F) at the active portion of the sensing element. If you are using it with gases you will have to calculate delta T for the gas you are using. Manual: https://assets.omega.com/manuals/M5166.pdf

Can be installed horizontally? Is it suitable to work with steam at 250°C?

Asked by: Mauricia
This cooling element can be used in the horizontal position. It has a maximum temperature rating of 300C.
