These spring loaded fittings provide another easy way to utilize your Omega temperature sensors.

For example:
  • Do you need to install a 1/4" diameter sensor in a thermowell without the use of a connection head? Install the 1/4-SLK spring loaded fitting onto your sensor to insure proper contact with the bottom of your thermowell without worrying if your sensor is over inserted or under inserted into the thermowell bore.

  • If you need to install your sensor in a thermowell while also using an enclosure for your wire connections, the SLF-12-12-14 spring loaded fitting can be used along with one of our extensive line of sanitary or industrial connection heads.
  • Did you have a sudden failure and need to replace your thermowell mounted RTD or thermocouple? If you have one of our cuttable RTD Sensors or Thermocouple sensors, just cut the sensor to length, add a spring loaded fitting and you are up and running.

  • Installation is simple with no tools required, simply do the following:
  • To install the single sided ¼-SLK fitting, slide the hex housing onto your probe with the 1/2 NPT threads pointed toward your thermowell or other suitable attachment point. Slide the self-gripping spring onto your probe with the wide end toward the hex housing and slide into place. The position of the assembly can then be adjusted as needed.

  • For the SLF12-12-14, slide the probe tip into the larger opening end of the fitting, twist the probe clockwise while pushing the probe through the fitting. Install the probe to the desired length, if needed the probe can be pulled through to re-adjust the position of the fitting.

Having issues with installing our exposed junction probes in the SLF-12-12-14. Seems like they are getting caught up on the spring before they can come out. Any tips to get them installed?

    Asked by: UL Ken
You would need to make sure the exposed end portion is within the perimeter of the probe OD then insert it very straight through the spring with extreme care.

Does the SLF-12-12-14 Leak with the probe installed? Is there a sealed cap?

    Asked by: Curt
Thank you for your inquiry. This does not provide a sealed connection with a probe.
