Why do I need to see sensor data in dashboards/reports?

Omega Cloud infrastructure uses service providers like AWS and Google, which have associated costs to maintain.

Do you offer post-sales support?

Yes. We have technical experts ready to support if issues/questions arise after purchase.
General Information
Does this require Omega Cloud to work?

While recommended, the system does not require Omega Cloud to work. Data can be stored on a local PC, using OEG (Omega Enterprise Gateway) software from where it can also be integrated with a data warehouse, business intelligence system or other enterprise data management solution.

What is Modbus?

Modbus is a standard data communications protocol used to connect industrial electronic devices.

Do I have to use Omega sensors?

No. The system is compatible with any thermocouple (TC) or resistance temperature detector (RTD) sensor and all sensors with standard 4 to 20 mA signaling. We offer a wide selection of rugged smart probes, from non-contact IR sensors to a full range of sensor types including temperature, humidity, process, RTD, thermocouple, pulse and more. When in doubt we recommend you ask our experts and we’ll be happy to verify connectivity of any probe.

Where is my data stored?

Data is logged on the sensor and stored either on the cloud (if you select Omega Cloud service) or you can store on a local PC; if stored locally that data can also be integrated with a data warehouse, business intelligence system or other enterprise data management solution.

Why do I need to see sensor data in dashboards/reports?

Discreet sensor readings are only a snapshot. Tracking data over time and comparing multiple measurement types (like temperature + humidity) provides a holistic view of the performance of your system. Data visualization offers a convenient way of turning measurements to insights that help you do your job.

Can it support multiple locations?

Data is logged on the sensor and stored either on the cloud (if you select Omega Cloud service) or you can store on a local PC; if stored locally that data can also be integrated with a data warehouse, business intelligence system or other enterprise data management solution.

How do we access our data if we don’t use Omega Cloud?

Data can be stored on a local PC; if stored locally that data can also be integrated with a data warehouse, business intelligence system or other enterprise data management solution.

Can I prevent my staff/clients from making system changes from the portal?

Yes. Omega Cloud allows administrators to designate ready-only access for users.

How many sensors can it support?

Each gateway can support up to 256 sensors. The system can support up to 2,000 gateways.
