Features

The OMEGA™ ZW-REC wireless receiver is designed to communicate up to 1000m* (3280') outdoor and around 100m* (328') indoor to various wireless sensors/transmitters. It connects directly to your Ethernet network and displays data on the built in Web Page without the need for any software. This built-in web server supports encryption to protect the sensitive data. Email and Text alarms can be sent using the optional Omega Enterprise Gateway (OEG) software.

You can monitor and record a range of remote sensors, including Thermocouple, RTD, infrared, Ambient Temperature, Relative Humidity and Barometric Pressure over an Ethernet network with no special software — just your web browser. OMEGA offers a complete wireless system solution supporting a wide range of application requirements in various industries, like Aerospace, Food Processing, Laboratory Research.

* Without obstruction or interference.

Compatible Wireless Transmitters:
XW Series (XW-ED): Up to 128 End Devices
ZW Series (ZW-ED): Up to 128 End Devices
UW Series (UWTC, UWRTD, UWIR, UWRH, UWPH): Up to 127 End Devices

Agency Approval: ECCN 5A992; EMC 2014/30/EU; LVD 2014/35/EU; RED 2014/53/EU; FCC ID TY0JN5168M5
Note: Because of transmission frequency regulations, the ZW series products may only be used in the United States, Canada, Europe, China, Japan, Korea, and Brazil.

A Complete Wireless System Requires At Least:

Case 1: One XW End Device (XW-EDA), One ZW Receiver (ZW-REC), and One or Two Analog Sensors (TC/RTD/mA/V)
Example: 3 XW-ED, 6 K-Type Thermocouples and 1 ZW-REC for a 3 zone wireless temperature measurement system

Case 2: One ZW End Device (ZW-ED), One Digital Probe (zTPx-P, ZTHPx-P or zBTx-P) and One ZW Receiver (ZW-REC).
Example: 3 ZW-ED, 3 zTP1-P and 1 ZW-REC for a 3 zone wireless temperature measurement system

Case 3: One UW Series End Device (UWTC-x, UWRTD-x, UWIR-x, UWRH-x, UWPH-x) and One ZW Receiver (ZW-REC).
Example: UWRH-2 and ZW-REC for a complete wireless RH system

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nothing but problems with these devices I purchaced several of these along with a bunch of the ZW-ED devices. Getting the ZW-ED device to communicate with the ZW-REC device seems to be a near impossibility. When I have talked to the people over at Omegas data acquisition department, I was told that they "no longer support the onboard dashboard" and that I need to use the "Omega Enterprise Dashboard". When I tried to install that software the installer tried to update my internet settings (something I cannot do due to company policy). The ZW-ED device "connects" to the ZW-REC as in the blue LED indicator blinks 5 times and shuts off indicating a connection per the manual, but doesnt actually connect. I've had devices dead on arrival (it happens I know) and I've had to update firmware right out of the box. If you want to use these, be ready to put in more time into getting the devices to run than they will actually be running. Customer support = frequent disconnects (every time i've tried to talk with them) and restarting the troubleshooting process every time you try to reconnect. I'm so tired of explaining the same problem and answering the same questions.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Software Does Not Recognize Device After a successful setup, Omega Sync software no longer recognizes the receiver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good things come in small packages I was looking for some lab quality sensors with access to the internet for a client and come across this device by Omega and was presently surprised at the simplicity of the operation and setup. With built in webserver the client is extremely happy and that goes double for me!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's OK with Limitations This device works ok within ~500 ft. You are risking yourself if you do anything more. It is NOT nema 4X so please cover it. Pros: - Ethernet Cable, detects transmitter XW easily, not to big. Cons: - Add $395 for OEG just to record and scale your signal to psi, gpm, ft/hr, etc. - Not good for environment agents like water, dust, etc. It isn't covered at all. - Need ~30 min to setup and better be concentrated for it. 3 softwares to setup and record your transmission. - Needs outside power source. - ~500 ft, one signal bar (no obstructions). We couldn't find the perfect position for the advertised 1 mile.

Can this device be configured as a signal repeater to connect two or more receivers and extend the system's range? If not, do you have a device that can work with the ZW-REC to enhance its range?

Asked by: FF Engineer
Thank you for your question. The ZW-REC cannot be used as a repeater, and we do not have any other device that can do so.

Unable to make the charting graph work. Have a ZW receiver along with ZW transmitters. Temperature and humidity values are shown on the End Device Readings page. On the Charting page, it does NOT allow me to select temperature and humidity buttons.

Hello, thank you for your question. In the case of troubleshooting for specific cases, it would be best if you send an email to our technical support team for that series at DAS@OMEGA.COM. Please include screenshots and as much details as possible.
