The FMG-550 Series magmeter flow sensors are heavy-duty, high-performance sensors in an adjustable, insertion configuration that can be used with a ball valve for hot-tap installations. This insertion-style flow sensor has no moving parts and is constructed of corrosion-resistant materials to provide long-term reliability with minimal maintenance costs.

The FMG-550 Series is versatile and simple-to-install, delivering reliable flow measurement over a wide dynamic range. Pipe sizes range from 2 to 48". Omega’s FMG-550 magmeters offer frequency or current outputs. The blind transmitter (4 to 20 mA output) is available for long distance signal transmission. The empty pipe detection features a zero flow output when the electrodes are not completely wetted. The frequency output is bi-directional while the 4 to 20 mA output can be set for uni- or bi-directional flow. The 4 to 20 mA output is factory spanned. Other factory configurations available, see "Notes" below for ordering instructions.

Can fmg-554 be provided with local display aside the transmitter. At how much?

Asked by: Lekan
Thank you for your inquiry about the insertion magnetic flow meter. A remote display such as the DPF64 will display flow rate, the DPF65 will display total volume, and the DPF66 will display both flow rate and total volume and will accept the signal from the FMG-554.

What's the frequency range of the FMG553 FLOWMETER, please?

Asked by: Lekan
Thank you for your inquiry. The frequency output is equal to the voltage supplied input and the K-factor is listed in the manual for the pipe dimaeter and construction of material to install the mag meter. Also, it can be determine via an equation provided below: f = (K x Q)/60 where f is the frequency in Hz K is the K-factor in pulses per gallon Q is the flow rate in gallns per minute
