The 5430 Series consists of both a high temperature insertion type electrode and a steam-sterilizable combination pH electrode designed to withstand high temperatures and pressures. The use of a porous PTFE liquid double junction and specifically formulated low impedance glass membrane allows it to function in the broadest spectrum of pH applications. With matched viscosity electrolytes, it provides a reference cell which permits extended periods of pH measurements in the presence of sulfides or other silver complexing agents. This electrode also incorporates pressure compensating devices to protect the electrode from extreme temperature induced pressure deviations. This combination of features also permits extended periods of pH measurement in the presence of poisoning ions or where membrane leaching would shorten the life of a conventional electrode. Melting of the cable due to contact with steam lines and motion generated noise are common problems with interconnecting cables on steam sterilizable electrodes. Our proprietary TPE high temperature/ultra-low noise cable is designed for optimal service, even in this demanding environment. Ten foot cable length and BNC connector are standard for our high temperature insertion type electrode.
