When fluidized solids are heated, heat is distributed quickly and evenly throughout the bath and transferred rapidly to objects submerged in the bath. The bath temperature can be adjusted easily to the point at which you wish to calibrate or run a test.

Fluidized baths for laboratories and instrument shops provide safe, rapid heat transfer and accurate temperature control, enabling you to efficiently and safely calibrate and maintain temperature sensitive instruments.

The principle of fluidization occurs when a gas—usually low pressure air or nitrogen—flows upward through a partially-filled chamber or retort of dry, inert particles of aluminum oxide. The gas flows at a low velocity, which sets the particles in motion, separates them, then suspends them to a stable level to give the particles the appearance of turbulence quite similar to the state of boiling liquid.

Besides circulating and flowing like a liquid, fluidization solids exhibit excellent heat transfer characteristics.

Fig. 1 - Pressure Regulator, Specify PRG200-25 and Fig. 2 - Air Compressor, Specify FSB-C-804
Pressure Regulator
Reduces the pressure of air from air line to suit the fluidized bath. The Regulator is supplied with a pressure gauge reading from 0 to 30 lb/in2 and a built-in air filter. Specify PRG200-25.

Air Compressor
For those who do not have a convenient air line, this oil-less unit with self-lubricating carbon vanes provides the proper air supply to fluidize the laboratory units. Specify FSB-C-804.
